Hot Water Heater
I stepped through the doorway into the garage and immediately felt something strange. The air was warm and humid … wait ... was that the sound of heavy rain too? Putting on my shoes quickly, I yelled to my mom of the news. We both like the movie Twister, both have a fascination with storms. I heard her walking over, so I jumped closer to the windows for a better view. I blinked my eyes in confusion because there was no rain to be seen. Mom was standing on the floor-mat and could tell something wasn't quite right.
"What? What is it?"
"There's no rain outside, and do you feel that? That warmth."
"You're right it feels humid."
The reason that fact was so strange was because it was sprinkling earlier that day. Walking by the outdoor thermostat showed 58 degrees Fahrenheit, so how could it be warm here where the walls are at their absolute thinnest.
"Where is that noise coming from? That sound of a healthy downpour."
That was the next question to answer as I listened again to the sound.
"Oh no", I thought to myself, slowly moving towards the right corner, "That better not be the water tank."
Sure enough, when mom hurried over, she confirmed that water was leaking. A copper tube had burst and started spraying the walls all around. The plumber was called and thankfully, he was able to fix it right away. Lucky, otherwise, I might have had to swim to my car that day.
