March's Lunar Eclipse
Tonight, the moon moved into the Earth’s umbral shadow; a total lunar eclipse. The view from outside was clear, and quite cold, and absolutely worth it to watch. I stood and stared as the moon turned light copper, a signaling of totality down here. I didn’t stay for long because of the temperature and time (a little before midnight PST), but I took it all in and appreciated the scene as I’m sure many others did. It made me a little sad, I started thinking about my dad, and how he would have been awed by it too. There’s another in September, and as long as I remember, I’ll wake my mom and brother to see it through.
