Painting Rocks

There’s another hobby I want to add to my collection. It has paint and pens and brushes and rocks and I’m sure, many other things. I’m starting to get worried about the shrinking space on my shelves.

Rock painting. Have I ever painted on rocks before? I mean, I’m sure I have, but that must’ve been way back in preschool.

I was browsing through Etsy, simply looking at cool rocks, when at the bottom of the screen a new seller’s ad popped up. It appeared to be a ladybug except it was large and flat and round. My immediate thought was, “I must do that. That is what I want to do now.”

I started digging and discovered miniature owls with feathers delicately detailed. Smooth stones painted with starry night skies. Rounded pebbles resembling fruits and other brightly colored foods. There are so many unique, inspirational, and creative rock paintings that artists have painted. It seems like it’ll be a lot of fun.

This weekend I’m going to the craft store to buy brushes and acrylic paint. Maybe on the way home I can pick up a nice, smooth rock to paint. When I’m done I’ll take a picture, just know that my painting skills are still at the preschool level.
